The summer can be rough on your skin. As the season progresses, you may notice new wrinkles on your skin, caused by increased heat or sun exposure and environmental factors such as poisonous plants, bugs, and even jellyfish. Oftentimes, steps can be taken at-home to correct these skin blemishes, but sometimes, you may need to make an appointment with your dermatologist to correct skin blemishes. Surprisingly, excessive swimming has the ability to dry out your skin, leaving it raw and cracked. Soaking up the warm bubbles of a hot tub can also eliminate your skin’s natural oils, resulting in dull, dry skin. By applying a ceramide moisturizer, you can treat severely dried or cracked skin. Ceramide is a natural occurring molecule, known as a lipid, found in the skin’s surface structure. Dry or cracked skin is often a result of low ceramide levels. Bug Bites: Mosquito bites are hard to avoid over the summer. To minimize the itch from the bite, wash the bite with soap and water right after it occurs. Applying calamine lotion and ice can also alleviate the itch. If the bite remains severely enflamed, or becomes infected, seek medical attention.
Poison Ivy: Over the counter Hydrocoristine and Benadryl can help relieve your itch. Applying cool compresses and taking short, lukewarm baths can help as well. If the rash begins to cover your body, or you’re experiencing blistering with no relief, you must contact your doctor.
Jellyfish Sting: The American Red Cross recommends rinsing an area affected by a jellyfish sting with vinegar or baking soda, helping to deactivate stinging cells, then soaking the area in hot water for at least 20 minutes. In areas in the Pacific Ocean, however, jellyfish stings may be more serious and require immediate medical attention. The affected party should also seek medical assistance for a sting if it covers a large portion of the body, affects the face or genitals, or causes hives or a rapid heartbeat.

Botox for Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis, commonly referred to as excessive sweating, can affect your underarms, the palms of your hands, and the soles of your feet. Upper Abs: Crunches and sit ups are commonly recommended to strengthen your upper core. Although a very basic exercise, crunches can increase strength in your upper core. To increase difficulty and effectiveness of a crush, you can add additional work out tools, such as dumbbells for your arms, or a swiss ball for additional stretching.
Lower Abs: Doing leg raises can help strengthen and shape your lower core. Although you may be familiar with doing hanging leg raises in the gym, lying leg raises at home have a similar affect. If you have a bench to lay on, letting your legs hang free will increase your range of motion.
Oblique: Twists are often recommended to strengthen your obliques. These abdominal exercises are often accompanied by a dumbbell, twisting side to side with it in hand. If you’re looking to add to your work out, raising your feet off the ground will add additional strengthening.
