Beautiful skin begins with a daily skin care plan. Sticking to a strict schedule of your skin routine will help you attain beautiful results in the long run and your skin will love you for it! Not sure where to start? NYC dermatologist Dr. Jody Levine shares some inside tips to get you started on flawless, younger looking skin!
Tip 1: Exfoliate only 1-2 x a week - not daily as that will promote more dead skin.
Tip 2: Use a glycolic or lactic acid moisturizer for super soft skin at night and a daily moisturizer with sunblock in the am- use one with green tea for the ultimate antioxidant and healthy skin.
Tip 3: Once a month, use a gentle glycolic peel to get rid of dead skin. For even softer and smoother results, try a mild laser peel with a Micro Laser Peel. These peels require no numbing and are usually painless. Some patients experience mild redness and slight peeling in the days following but the results are amazing.
Tip 4: Moisturize with products containing ceramides. Ceramides are naturally found within the outer layer of the skin and help the skin retain moisture. Adding lotions and creams containing cermaides will keep your skin moisturized and hydrated.
Tip 5: Drink 1-2 cups of green tea daily.
Tip 6: Use a sunblock that contains zinc. This ingredient will help you protect from the full spectrum of UVA and UVB rays.

According to a new study, drinking alcohol regularly may increase your risk of developing melanoma by 55%! Researchers also note past studies have shown a relationship between alcohol intake and an increase in sunburn, adding alcohol can affect behavior, causing subjects to stay out in the sun too long, or forget to regularly apply sunscreen.

Setting small, short term goals is a great way to break up the steps to achieve long term weight loss. Diet: Dr. Elie Levine does not recommend the use of fad diets. The best diets are the ones that can be maintained both before and after surgery. Remember to eat 3 balanced meals per day and avoid nighttime snacks.
Plastic Surgery: Body sculpting procedures should be performed when you are at an ideal body weight. This weight should be your long term target weight that can be maintained throughout a lifetime.
