your facelift consultation
During your personal consultation with Dr. Levine you will discuss your concerns, realistic desires and goals at length. Dr. Levine will answer all your questions and will examine your face and neck area to determine your facial anatomy, skin quality and the extent of surgery that you will need to effectively address your concerns. Taking photos and using computer imaging will better enable him to educate you about the procedures he will recommend for you, and it will also allow you to see a proposed outcome. You and Dr. Levine will tailor your treatment plan during this appointment.
facelift surgery (rhytidectomy) overview
After you are fully prepped and totally comfortable, Dr. Levine will make an incision hidden in the hairline (just above the ear) to the base of the ear. Working through this incision she will lift the skin, adjust and reposition underlying muscle and fat, trim excess skin and then re-drape the skin to a more youthful position. If liposuction is performed on your neck, it will be done at the same time to help contour and sculpt the neck.
what to expect after your facelift surgery
Swelling, bruising and a pale look are to be expected for roughly one to two weeks following your surgery. This will greatly improve over the first week even though total healing and recovery will take longer. You will wear a full dressing for one to three days. If liposuction is done, you will wear a neck band day and night for one to two weeks and for an additional two weeks at night only. Most of Dr. Levine’s patients are able to return to work within one to two weeks.
