Your Personal Consultation
During your personal consultation with either Dr E. Levine or Dr. J Levine you will discuss your concerns, and goals and learn how Facial Fat Grafting takes several years off an aging face. Photos will be taken, and computer imaging will be used to help you see the outcome of your surgery. During this appointment, your treatment plan will be tailored to address your concerns and realistic expectations.
Facial Fat Grafting Procedure
After you are prepped and made comfortable He/she will anesthetize the donor site in preparation for harvesting the fat. This will minimize bruising and bleeding and makes the procedure nearly pain-free. Using a cannula attached to a syringe, the fat is extracted (liposuction) through a small incision at the donor site. After the fat has been purified and is ready for transplant, it will be carefully and precisely injected into the sites requiring augmentation/sculpting. These areas have also been prepared for the injections with tiny incisions. Extra fat is frozen to use in small amounts at each monthly visit. This procedure is done slowly over the course of several months to get the ideal results that will last for many years!
What to Expect After Your Surgery
Drs. Levine will tell you what you can do following your fat transfer surgery. You should avoid massage and excessive facial movement, and use ice compresses for 24 – 48 hours to minimize inflammation. At your follow-up appointments he/she will check the donor and recipient sites and make new injections as needed to ensure the ideal, long-lasting results you want and deserve. Your swelling should be nearly resolved within 6-8 weeks, and your early results will be clearly visible.
