Laser therapy can address a wide array of challenges. Depending on your concerns, you may benefit from one or more of the following procedures:

Age Spot Removal, Sun Damage Correction, and Melasma

Age spots are localized concentrations of melanin in the skin, caused by long-term UV exposure and commonly occurring in readily exposed areas like the face, hands, and shoulders. For age spot removal, lasers effectively target dark spots and break up pigment with concentrated light energy, stimulating new collagen production in the process. PicoSure® Laser for Skin Rejuvenation delivers powerful energy to regenerate skin and treat skin pigment at varying depths, providing incredible photorejuvenation and, together with Dr. Jody Levine’s melasma protocol, delivering lasting results for notoriously hard-to-treat skin disorders such as melasma. At PSD (Plastic Surgery & Dermatology of NYC), we have several different lasers all targeted to age spot removal, as specific laser wavelengths are needed for the various colors and depths of sun spots that may present. Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite is a condition that arises when the structural network surrounding fat cells under the skin constricts, leading to a dimpled appearance. The lumpy appearance cannot be resolved by diet and exercise alone. Dr. Jody Levine utilizes Cellulaze, a minimally invasive laser treatment that works to release the fibrous bands constricting fat tissue and produce a temporarily smoother appearance.

Antiaging with Radiofrequency Microneedling

FractoraTM and MorpheusTM are excellent for patients who wish to improve their complexion and treat fine lines without undergoing surgery. BodyTite, FaceTite, and AccuTite

BodyTite is used for larger areas of the body that require substantial skin tightening and fat reduction, such as the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, chest, knees, and back. It provides a significant contouring result that bridges the gap between traditional liposuction (which may not address skin laxity) and full surgical excisional procedures (like a tummy tuck). FaceTite is specifically engineered for delicate, smaller areas of the face and neck. It is highly effective for tightening the jowls, improving the appearance of the nasolabial folds, and defining the jawline and neck contours. The smallest and most precise applicator in the suite, AccuTite is designed for very small, highly focused areas that require meticulous contouring and tightening.

Quantum RF

Quantum RF uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen production and tighten skin across the face and body. This minimally invasive procedure involves the insertion of a small probe under the skin, which delivers controlled radiofrequency heat to the underlying tissue. The heat causes the existing collagen fibers to contract and stimulates the long-term production of new collagen and elastin, resulting in smoother, firmer skin. Dr. Elie Levine often uses Quantum RF to address lax skin on the neck, jowls, abdomen, and arms. It can also be combined with other minimally invasive treatments like MorpheusTM or Ultherapy for enhanced results. Vascular Lesion, Hemangioma, Port Wine Stain, Angioma, Rosacea, Scars

At PSD, we have several lasers devoted to treating red spots. These red spots may come in the form of a congenital lesion (present at birth) or a lesion that develops with time. Red blood vessels may pop up from trauma, or from rosacea or scars. Dr. Jody Levine is an expert at laser surgery and can choose the best laser and the optimal laser settings to treat red pigment and vascular lesions of all forms.

Congenital Vascular lesions appear at or around birth and may naturally darken or lighten over time, depending on the type. When laser energy passes through the skin, hemoglobin in the blood vessels absorbs it, encouraging involution or hastening healing. The V-Beam Perfecta Laser uses micro-pulse technology to treat discoloration and vascular lesions of many types. This technology can be used to treat veins, rosacea, spider angiomas, hemangiomas, and other types of red lesions. Dr. Jody Levine can help you choose the laser that best fits your vascular needs.

Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, is a frustrating condition that affects patients globally. MiraDryTM is the only FDA-cleared, non-invasive technology to target underarm sweat. It uses proprietary MiraWave laser technology to destroy the eccrine glands for up to 82% permanent reduction in sweat and odor after only one or two treatment sessions.

Laser Hair Removal

Geared to all skin types and hair colors, Dr. Jody Levine uses the latest laser technology to perform laser hair removal across the body with fast, effective, and painless results. Pigmented cells in the hair shaft absorb light from the laser, which then travels to the root, where it damages the follicle to prevent further growth. At PSD, we have several different lasers that are used for laser hair removal, depending on the color and thickness of your hair. This allows Dr. Jody Levine to customize your treatment based on ethnicity and skin type, protecting your epidermis during treatment, and effectively treating hair of all kinds. We also use the application of a special compound to improve the laser hair removal of light hair.

Laser Liposuction

Laser liposuction, such as SculpSure, which is safe for all skin types, delivers supercharged heat energy beneath the skin’s surface to loosen fat cells, which allows for easier removal. SculpSure can accomplish up to 25% fat reduction per treatment area. Simultaneously, the thermal laser activity stimulates deep collagen to promote tissue regeneration and skin tightening in targeted areas.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Ablative and non-ablative Laser skin resurfacing treatments can improve the skin’s texture and tone, reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars, and promote an overall healthier appearance with less downtime than surgery. Photodynamic Therapy

Photorejuvenation

LED Light Therapy

LED therapy is a gentle treatment that uses targeted light wavelengths to improve skin health without heat or downtime. It’s safe for all skin types and often enhances results from other treatments.

Rosacea Treatment

Rosacea is characterized by persistent facial redness that often grows more severe or pervasive with age. While there is no cure, light-based therapy for rosacea treatment can target and clear the subdermal blood vessels that are responsible for facial redness. Maintenance laser treatments for rosacea can greatly reduce rosacea flare-ups and keep your skin virtually free of bumps and redness. Dr. Jody Levine has several different lasers that she uses depending on the size and location of your inflamed blood vessels, as well as specialized skin care designed to work in conjunction with laser treatment.

Ultherapy

Ultherapy offers a comprehensive, non-invasive approach to addressing mild to moderate skin laxity on the face and neck. It is unique in that it focuses on the same deep foundational layer that a surgical facelift addresses: the Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System (SMAS). Unlike a facelift, Ultherapy uses highly targeted ultrasound energy to create a thermal effect in the deeper layers without disturbing the skin’s surface. Dr. Jody Levine customizes the treatment by adjusting the depth of penetration, ensuring the dermis, subcutaneous tissue, and the critical SMAS layer are all activated.

Stretch Marks

Laser therapy can help reduce the appearance of stretch marks, where topical treatments often fall short. The SkinTyte laser uses safe infrared light energy and advanced skin cooling to comfortably tighten skin and fade stretch marks. The number of treatment sessions recommended will depend on the maturity level of the stretch marks, but both infrared and visible light, as well as skin resurfacing and radio frequency devices, can soften their appearance over time.

Tattoo Removal

For tattoo removal, laser energy targets unwanted pigment cells, shatters them into smaller molecules, and the body naturally absorbs and eradicates them, resulting in clearer skin.

At PSD, we have several different lasers designed to target the various colors used in tattoos, including the AlexTriVantage, which selectively breaks up tattoo ink particles without damaging surrounding tissues. The PicoSure® laser uses picosecond energy pulses to shatter ink particles for easy absorption and elimination with minimal downtime. At times, a combination of lasers is needed to target all colors in a tattoo.

Vein Treatment & Sclerotherapy

Laser Vein treatment strategically dissolves problematic veins to help them gradually fade. For more prominent, or sometimes painful, spider and varicose veins, sclerotherapy ⁽⁵⁾ may be beneficial.
