Jody Alpert Levine, MD

Dr. Jody Alpert Levine is board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She is the co-founder and co-director of Plastic Surgery & Dermatology of NYC, PLLC, a comprehensive facility in Manhattan offering a full range of integrated skincare for the whole family.  Dr. Levine practices medical and surgical dermatology, specializing in cosmetic and laser surgery for pediatric and adult patients.

A graduate of Columbia College, with a 4.0 GPA, Jody Alpert Levine earned the distinctions of Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude. She then received her M.D. at Yale University School of Medicine, graduating with honors.  Dr. Levine completed a Pediatric residency at The Mount Sinai Medical Center followed by a residency in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.  Prior to opening Plastic Surgery and Dermatology of NYC, PLLC, Dr. Levine worked in private practice in Manhattan and served as Head of Pediatric Dermatology at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx. Currently, Dr. Levine remains on faculty at Montefiore Medical Center and is a Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. 

Dr. Levine has been designated as one of “The Best People, Places, and Things This Fair City Has to Offer”, by Gotham Magazine, and has been named one of “America’s Top Dermatologists of 2009” by the Consumer’s Research Council of America.  Her international patient base consists of many for whom discretion is paramount.

Dr. Levine has published scholarly papers in prestigious journals including Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Journal of the American Medical Association.  In addition, she is on the medical advisory board of Parents magazine and is often featured in national beauty magazines, web pages, newspapers, radio shows and television programs.  She has been quoted in W Magazine, Elle, Allure, Self, Shape, Marie Claire, New York Magazine and The New York Times.  Dr. Levine has appeared on the Martha Stewart Radio, The Montel Williams Show, Fox News, and ABC News.

Dr. Levine is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology and the American Medical Association.

While Dr. Levine has expertise in all areas of dermatology and dermatologic surgery, she specializes in medical and surgical pediatric dermatology as well as adult cosmetic dermatology.  She has advanced expertise in lasers and other light-based treatments for cosmetics, skin cancer treatment and for treatment of pediatric vascular lesions.  In addition, she has expertise in Botox, all injectable fillers (including collagen, Restylane, Radiesse, Juvéderm, Sculptra) sclerotherapy, liposuction and hair transplant.

Dr. Levine believes in an individualized, systemic approach to each patient. Gathering her knowledge from her vast experience with medical, surgical and light-based treatments, she formulates an effective regimen for each patient.  Dr. Levine firmly believes in educating all patients, from youth through adulthood, on the dangers of outdoor and indoor tanning.  She stresses the importance of sun safety and appropriate skin care, capturing the beauty of youthful skin and making it available to patients of all ages. 

Dr. Jody Levine resides in Manhattan with her husband Dr. Elie Levine, a Plastic Surgeon, and their four children, Skyler, Jasmine, Caitlin and William.
