About Motiva Breast Implants

Motiva breast implants mimic the look, feel, and movement of natural breast tissue. They feature a SmoothSilk® nanotexture surface, which reduces bacterial adhesion and reduces the risk of complications, such as capsular contracture. (1) A BluSeal® safety barrier provides enhanced protection against gel leakage, while TrueMonobloc® innovations in the shell design improve implant flexibility, allowing for smaller surgical incisions.

With traditional implants, the silicone shell and filling can move independently, posing the increased possibility of rippling or rupture. Motiva’s proprietary technology fuses the exterior and interior materials of the implant together, creating a tighter bond for enhanced durability.

Preparation

Dr. Elie Levine will provide essential preparation instructions during your consultation, which will vary from patient to patient depending on medical history and goals. All patients should:

  • Suspend usage of blood-thinning medications and supplements
  • Stop smoking (if applicable)
  • Abstain from alcohol
  • Fill any necessary prescriptions prior to the procedure and
  • Complete any necessary lab work where applicable
  • Arrange transportation to and from your procedure
  • Schedule time off from work to recuperate.

Procedure

You receive anesthesia first, then Dr. Elie Levine creates precise and strategic incisions at carefully selected locations on your breasts, typically along the lower breast crease or the bottom edge of the areola. After gaining access to the underlying breast tissues, he will create a pocket where he positions the implants and carefully adjusts them to achieve symmetry and desired projection. (3) Dr. Elie Levine can create the pocket above the chest muscle (subfascial), below the chest muscle, or he can use a dual approach.

Recovery

During the initial stages of recovery, patients may experience temporary swelling, bruising, or tenderness. Dr. Elie Levine provides long-acting pain relief to minimize initial discomfort, and you will wear a compression bra to minimize swelling and protect healing breast tissue. Dr. Elie Levine recommends that you take adequate time away from work and activities during this stage (one to two weeks) and sleep at a slight incline with your head and shoulders elevated. Avoid more strenuous activities until receiving clearance from Dr. Elie Levine.
