  • Saline Implants: Saline breast implants contain a sterile saltwater solution in a silicone shell. These implants may be placed in the chest pre-filled or empty, with filling later.
  • Silicone Implants: Silicone breast implants are composed of a cohesive silicone gel. These implants mimic the softer feeling of natural breast tissue.

Preparation

Once you schedule your procedure, Dr. Elie Levine will provide a detailed set of pre-operative instructions to help you prepare. He may instruct you to:

  • Refrain from taking any medications or supplements that contain blood-thinning properties.
  • Prepare to take time away from your career and commitments to focus on resting.
  • Pre-arrange transportation to and from your procedure.
  • Fill any prescriptions ahead of time.
  • Discontinue using nicotine in the weeks leading up to your procedure and throughout your entire recovery.
  • Undergo any labs or mammograms requested by Dr. Elie Levine.

These instructions may vary depending on the details of your surgical plan, but you are still expected to follow each one to ensure a quick recovery and maximize your results.

Procedure

Dr. Elie Levine performs each breast augmentation in our state-of-the-art, in-office operating suite. First, the appropriate anesthesia will be administered to ensure you are comfortable throughout your procedure.

Breast Implant Placement

To place breast implants, Dr. Elie Levine will make discreet incisions. He may use one of three incision placements during your procedure, including:

  • Periareolar: The periareolar incision circles the outer border of your nipple-areolar complex.
  • Inframammary: The inframammary incision is placed horizontally along the breast creases, also known as the inframammary fold. This incision is one of the most commonly used approaches when performing a breast augmentation.
  • Transaxillary: Also known as the armpit incision, the transaxillary approach is placed within the armpit. This technique leaves no scarring on the breasts themselves, but limits visibility during placement. Primarily used for saline only.

After making the incision, Dr. Elie Levine will create a pocket for the implant. He can place the implants:

  • below the pectoral muscle (submuscular),
  • above the pectoral muscle (subfascial),
  • or a combination of both (dual plane placement). (3)

Fat Transfer Augmentation

During a fat transfer augmentation, Dr. Elie Levine will use liposuction techniques to delicately harvest excess fat from around your body. He can take fat from essentially anywhere where there is excess, but common areas include the abdomen, thighs, or flanks.

He will first administer a tumescent fluid, allowing it to settle and swell the fat cells before inserting a cannula into the treatment area. The cannula smoothly extracts the fat, leaving the area more toned and sculpted.

Dr. Elie Levine will process and purify this fat before readministering it to your breasts using his advanced microdroplet technique. This technique enhances fat survival and precision.

Recovery

After a breast augmentation, it is normal to experience some mild swelling, bruising, and tenderness. Dr. Elie Levine will provide you with long-lasting pain relief to ensure you have the most comfortable experience possible.

You may return to desk work and other light activities after about one week. However, you will need to continue avoiding physically demanding or high-impact activities until Dr. Elie Levine clears you to return.

Dr. Elie Levine may advise that you wear a specialized post-surgery bra during your recovery. This bra will help minimize swelling and support your breasts as you heal.

Dr. Elie Levine offers accommodations to patients travelling for their procedure to ensure they have a relaxing recovery before safely and comfortably traveling home.

Scar Minimization
